Graduation is often a time of reflection when photo albums and yearbooks from the past are reminisced over while dreams of what the future holds are ever present. This graduation party design was inspired by the magical Polaroid photographs of yesteryear and the slides you’d see projected on the white wall of your grandparents’ basement!

Favored Friday Spotlight: Great Gatsby Inspired Save The Date for the #BossWedding

Boss Wedding                                            Watch Bambo + Janice Epic Wedding Trailer Here!

When I first heard Bambo and Janice story I completely loved how over the top these two were! The director reports that they were so open to ideas and excited about creating something that seemed impossible…

Some things you will see through out the trailer: They love Jay-Z. They love the trailer for The Great Gatsby. They have huge parties every year that they are know for throwing amongst their friends. They love to surprise people. They are more willing than most people that we know to step outside of their comfort zone in order to be creative!!! The keyword for this project was EPIC.

A little about Major Diamond Production...for the majority of the shooting it was just a crew of two.. Husband and wife team, Chris and Jennifer Mae. For the Club Scene. Jennifer Mae and Chris were able to shoot at Monroe in San Francisco.  The crew also reports that Janice and Bambo were incredibly dedicated and made it so much fun to create such a unique project together.

I love how Bambo and Janice wanted to create an experience for their guests leading up to their event. As a wedding planner and been through the process of planning lots of weddings, I know how difficult it is to do something different than everyone else so kudos to them for pulling it off!

Hope you can get some inspiration and enjoy their Epic Wedding Save the Date.

Instant Show Stopper, #DIY Hand Glittered Paper Lantern

glitter paper lanterns Wow all of your guests at your next big event with showstopping #DIY Glittered Paper Lanterns. So easy even a caveman could do it! : )

Materials:

  • Paper Lanterns
  • Glitter in the color of your choice
  • Glue Spray

Directions:

1. Cover the place where you will work with paper so you can reuse the glitter that will not stick on the ball again.

2. Cover the ball with the glue and immediately pour glitter on it.

3. When the first layer is dry, do another one to cover all the parts that are still appearing.

4. When you finish spray glue in the entire surface one more time to fix the glitter well.

Adam + Renee's Engagement Photos: Laughter Meets Love!

photo 2

Adam and Renee met in college at Salisbury University in the fall of 2003. Introduced by friends, the couple did not officially have their first date until February 2004. One thing I found so cute about their story was that Adam (being the jokester that he is) told Renee that he would fall in love with her because of her hair (which is gorgeous!!!) which she probably gets from being Chinese Jamaican. A great friendship grew and Adam continued to make Renee laugh and find more reasons to love her.

photo 5Since Renee is from Miami, the couple decided to make a trip and Adam made the necessary arrangements to pop the question! Adam found the perfect lighting + got down on one knee in front of Renee's family to propose. He said a few sweet things, she cried (a lot), her parents and brother screamed, and passersby clapped + cheered.

photo 4

These two are getting married this weekend in Rivera Maya, Mexico and wish nothing but the best for this beautiful couple! Congrats :)

#Favored Facts:

Adam is a Wine Enthusiast + loves to cook (check his intagram @ad_renaissance)!

Renee loves dance + photography!

You're Invited: Truckeroo is Back on Friday April 19th! Hire a Food Truck for Your Wedding!

truckeroo_2

Food trucks have been the latest hit in food trends in cities all over. And it seems that DC couples love the idea of a food truck at their weddings too! Truckeroo is a monthly festival held at Half and M Street, SE across from Navy Yard Metro Station. Over 20 food trucks take part of the event, so its the perfect place for a new couple to scout out some possible caterers for their upcoming wedding. Its also a great date night in the midst of the the stressful wedding planning process (when you don't hire Favored team lol!) with plenty of drinks at the bullpen, cornhole, and live music for the first truckeroo of the season.

capmactruck

If youre thinking of having something fresh instead of traditional catering, a food truck can provide another food option for your wedding – whether it’s as the main meal, some fun bites between the ceremony and reception or as a late night snack. Any foodie couple will love the idea of local, gourmet food options for their wedding. Who needs banquet food when you can have mobile grilled cheeses, tacos, burgers, ice cream and more delivered right to your wedding?

fcf632a57dacfdad4e2c58e711edf705

Food trucks might not be suitable for a traditional wedding, as guests might be expecting a sit-down meal, but they’re ideal for casual, outdoor celebrations. Some would say a food truck at a wedding is tacky, but I think not. You have so many gourmet options nowadays. Because many trucks are small businesses, they can personalize menus and customize the service, usually at a less expensive cost than traditional catering.
